Guided into What’s Next

I left home at 16 and learned very early that if I wanted something in life, I had to work hard for it. I became independent, determined, and focused on building a life for myself. Over the years, that determination helped me build a successful career and eventually earn a six-figure income. For a long time, I measured security by how hard I worked, what I accomplished, and how well I could take care of myself.

But God had more to teach me.

My relationship with Jesus has shown me that my identity isn't found in my career, my income, or how much I can accomplish on my own. My faith has grown through different seasons of my life—especially the difficult ones. I have learned to turn to Him when I don't have the answers and to trust Him when the path in front of me doesn't make sense.

For more than three years, I have been unemployed. Going from a successful career to a season of uncertainty has challenged me in ways I never expected. There have been moments of fear, frustration, disappointment, and questions about what comes next.

But there has also been faith.

I'm still in the middle of my story. I can't stand here and tell you that everything has worked itself out yet. What I can say is that God continues to remind me that losing a job did not mean losing my purpose.

At this stage of my life, I'm learning how to reinvent myself while keeping my faith at the center of it. I'm exploring new opportunities, discovering different ways I can serve others, and learning to trust God's timing instead of my own.

When I look at my life today, I realize how blessed I truly am. Not because everything is perfect, but because through every season—the 16-year-old girl trying to make it on her own, the woman who built a successful career, and the woman now figuring out what her next chapter will be—God has been there.

My testimony isn't about having all the answers. It's about continuing to believe when I don't.

I don't know exactly what God has planned for my next chapter, but I know I'm not walking into it alone. And I'm beginning to understand that sometimes what feels like starting over may actually be God preparing you for something new.
